The Japanese Box Hedge is a shrub known for its vibrant lime green oval-shaped leaves. The Japanese Buxus hedge is a hugely popular choice in Australia for creating neat, compact hedge lines. Japanese Box far out performs it’s counterpart English Box in every aspect. For our climate it is hands down the more superior plant for fast growth, excellent durability and renowned hardiness.
Box Hedge thrives best in areas with full sun or part shade. Its botanic name, Buxus microphylla var. japonica, reveals its Japanese origin, hailing from the mountainous regions of Japan. This shrub is an excellent option for crafting small, well-maintained hedges, responding beautifully to regular trimming.
Adaptability and versatility are also hallmark features of box plants. Buxus Microphylla will withstand drought, frost and extreme heat, making it a great choice for almost all locations and climates.
